Cleaning naturally with vinegar

February 3, 2014 By

Are you used to cleaning with bleach or other expensive chemical-based cleaning agents in your home? Have you noticed that you are spending too much money and not getting the results you really want when you are done? It might be time to make the switch to a more natural, less expensive cleaning product you probably already have in your pantry: vinegar. Yes, vinegar.

Vinegar can be used to clean and disinfect as well as bleach in most cases. Did you know that you can use vinegar to soften your clothes, clean your washing machine, disinfect your shower, and even get scorched pans glistening like brand new? And no, your home will not smell like vinegar when you are finished either. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant that can make even your toughest jobs seem easier.

Using a cup of white vinegar in your laundry cycle in place of bleach will make your clothes fresh and clean without the harmful fumes leftover by bleach. It can also be added instead of bleach to your Clean Washer cycle to get rid of musty smells without adding chemicals to the water supply that will drain out.

Using natural substances can be much better for the safety of your family as well as the integrity of your household items. Cleaning with bleach can wear down caulk in the bathroom which can lead to leaks and/or mold. You can avoid claims on your homeowner’s insurance policy by avoiding bleach. Using vinegar won’t harm plastics or other materials but will clean it just as well. It can’t hurt to give vinegar a try the next time you are cleaning your home. Do some research to see what else vinegar can be used for. We assure you it is good for much more than just salad dressing. You may be surprised at what you find!
