We all know that in order to save money we need to spend less than we earn. Without following that one simple task, it is impossible to make any headway in the savings department. Of course, we’d all like to make more money. But until that becomes a reality we need to cut spending any way we can. There are a few things you can do in your daily life that will save you a few extra dollars each month.
First, open a savings account at a trusted. Make sure you choose a bank that has minimal or no fees and will be helpful to you when you have questions or concerns. Find out if they offer direct deposit which will make it easier to add money to your account without you even really noticing. You don’t need to make huge contributions all the time. A few dollars here and there can really add up. In fact, $10 a week will give you $520 at the end of the year. It would be nice to have that money for holiday shopping this year, wouldn’t it?
Next, try living without that exorbitant television package you have. No, you don’t have to get rid of your plan entirely. Just switching to a lesser package (which will most likely still offer you more channels than you could possibly watch) can save you upwards of $50 a month! If you are feeling saucy, try canceling the service altogether. You can always subscribe to internet TV or try renting movies from a different source.
Don’t forget about calling all the companies you send payments to – credit cards, insurance, utility bills- and asking about reductions in your charges. You may be surprised at how much you can save by just making a phone call. Best of luck in your saving endeavor!
