Community. It is what truly makes America great. Families and individuals living within a specific geographic area who share a commonality, that is in it’s simplest form, human life. We’re human inherently flawed, but by the grace of God we have compassion. And like all generations before us, when someone in our community has a great need, we too must rally together as a community to help our neighbor, it’s our nature. As it is portrayed time and time again in motion pictures throughout history from Little House on the Prairie to Witness when a family is in need it takes a whole community to help. ======>
Well Katy, Texas it is time to raise a barn. Please read on about how you can be involved. No hammer needed.
Baby Savannah
Bonnie Holland Elementary and the community of Katy, TX are blessed with a very special lady, Sheree’ Norton. Sheree’ resides in Seven Meadows with her family and has a 5th grade son, Blake, who attends BHE. She is one of those rare individuals who gives of herself completely and tirelessly. Honestly, there are not enough words to describe her kindness and compassion.
Sheree’ gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Savannah, early this summer. Sadly, Sheree’ received the devastating news that baby Savannah has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She has Type One, which is the most severe type and prognosis grants her 8 months to 2 years of life. At this time, there is no cure or treatment for SMA. It is the number one genetic killer in children from birth to toddler years.
We want to make a difference in the lives of families who hear this news, by helping raise money for a cure for SMA as well as complete a half marathon in Savannah’s honor. Our goal is to raise money for the research leading to a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Our belief is that through our personal commitment in achieving the goal of a half marathon and your contribution, Savannah and other children like her will one day hear the words “You have been cured of Spinal Muscular Atrophy.”
Please help us celebrate the joy of life and hope that others will benefit from our combined effort to make a difference. If you would like to aid us in this cause, simply write a check payable to the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation place Savannah Sue Norton’s name in the memo section of the check. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible and can be mailed directly to the address below. If you wish to pay by credit card, you may do so by visiting the website, SavannahSmiles. Regardless of the amount, your contribution is greatly appreciated.
Together, Savannah and the team of runners share a common goal: to overcome an uphill battle. The running of a half marathon will symbolize the ability of the human spirit to extend the boundaries of the human body. Thank you for your consideration and support.
Warm Regards,
Savannah Smiles Running Team
So let’s join forces with Savannah and her family to take a proactive approach towards finding a treatment for SMA. Nathan Dagley is going to be running in the marathon and the Dagley organization will also donate $2.00 for each person that ‘Likes’ the Dagley Insurance & Financial Services facebook page (you can simply push the ‘Like’ button on the left side of this page). Please spread the word so we can raise some money (in lieu of a barn) for our neighbor.
Thanks.
